Guerin not ready to move on lower salary
Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero and Bob Murray the agent for Bill Guerin have had multiple conversations over the past couple days. However, the conversations haven't led to movement on a new deal.
Pittsburgh has informed Guerin that they want him back but can't match his salary of $2 million per season.
The Penguins were hopeful to establish some parameters on a new deal but Guerin hasn't shown a willingness to move on a significantly lesser salary and appears primed to hit the open market.
Murray and Shero are expected to touch base this afternoon as the two sides I'm told haven't spoke since late Monday afternoon.
Guerin is expected to only consider a few select teams and will likely give Pittsburgh the first opportunity to re-sign him.
