James Harrison did not talk to the media today but did release a statement just after 4:00 p.m.
Harrison said that he will not retire from football and is all for player safety but said that his hit on Massaquoi was legal.
"I believe the hit against Massaquoi for which I was fined was legal and well within the scope of the rules. I feel the real reason for the fine was the statement I made after the game where I said that I try to hurt people, not injure them, " Harrison said in the second paragraph of his statement.
Also, among the highlights from the statement is that Harrison said he will "continue to play the game with the same passion and intensity and won't let the "league office" stop him from playing the game that he loves
