Teams can scratch Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk off of their wishlist as sources indicate the Avalanche have informed teams that Hejduk will not waive his NTC and is not available. The Rangers, Penguins, Sabres, Panthers, Canucks, and Oilers have held talks with the Avalanche about Hejduk over the past month.
Hejduk, 33, has one year remaining on his contract.

Despite conflicting reports, the Avalanche are entertaining offers for Ryan Smyth, who the Penguins have internally discussed making a play for.
