Highly touted four-Star recruit Terrell Chestnut of Pottsgrove (Pottstown, Pa.), made a verbal commitment to the University of Pittsburgh this afternoon.
Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia and were finalists for the 5-foot-10, 175-pound recruit. Chestnut received over 25 offers, including offers from the likes of Michigan and Penn State.
In high school, Chestnut is a quarterback/defensive back and was recruited by Pitt to play cornerback. Chestnut had a strong junior season, recorded 91 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Chestnut has tremendous athletic ability, rushing for 995 yards and 18 touchdowns last season.
Pitt now has 12 commitments for their 2011 class. Yesterday, the Panthers received a verbal commitment from four-star running back Jameel Poteat. (Harrisburg, Pa.).
