Holmes de-activated for Sunday’s game

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has announced wide receiver Santonio Holmes will not play in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Pittsburgh Police have indicated Holmes will be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop Thursday near Mellon Arena in which police smelled burning marijuana and found marijuana-filled cigars in his car. Holmes is second on the team behind Hines Ward with 22 catches for 360 yards and a touchdown.
