Cornerback Ike Taylor, Tight end Heath Miller and RB Baron Batch were placed on injured reserve today. Miller, who had a team-high 71 receptions and 816 receiving yards, tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns with eight on the season. He has 39 career receiving touchdowns, the most in team history for a tight end, before suffering a right knee injury in the Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Taylor had missed three straight games (Weeks 14-16) after suffering a right ankle injury in the Steelers’ Week 13 victory at Baltimore. Prior to missing the past three games, he had played in 135 straight games for a cornerback. Taylor finished the season with one interception and 35 tackles. Batch suffered a broken arm in the Week 16 game against the Bengals. After missing all of his rookie season in 2011, Batch spent most of this season on the Steelers’ active roster (three weeks on practice squad) and played primarily on special teams. He finished with four special teams tackles but also scored his first career touchdown with a 10-yard run against Tennessee in Week 6.
