Bruins top Penguins 5-1

Poor defensive play followed the Penguins around all night and the Boston Bruins (33-22-6, 72 pts) put the game away in the third period with three third period goals, en route to a 5-1 victory over the Penguins (30-21-8, 68 pts) on Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh’s lone goal of the night came from Tom Kuhnhackl (2) at 4:07 of the second period. Oskar Sundqvist picked up an assist on the goal, his first career NHL point, as Kuhnhackl drove to the net and a rebound went off his skate and into the net.

Marc Andre Fleury stopped 24 of 29 shots in the loss. Kris Letang was a team-worst minus-3.
