Bucs fall to Cards 5-4

*Jack Flaherty pitched seven solid innings, striking out six and allowing two earned runs in a Cardinals (1-0) 5-4 win over the Pirates (0-1).
*St. Louis and Flaherty built a 3-0 cushion until the Pirates climbed within 3-2 in the seventh on a 2-run RBI single from Jacob Stallings.
*In the eighth, the game got away from the Pirates again as Paul DeJong hit a two-run homer off Rich Rodriguez to push the Cards lead to 5-2. Pittsburgh rallied in the ninth to get within one on a Jose Osuna infield single that scored Josh Bell and Colin Moran.
*In the loss, Joe Musgove allowed 5 hits and 3 earned runs in 5.2 IP. Trevor Williams takes the mound for Pirates on Saturday afternoon.
