The Pittsburgh Penguins looking to hammer down deals with at least 2-3 of their defenseman by the end of the weekend, have taken care of the easiest signing.

The team and 27 year old defenseman Chad Ruhwedel have agreed to a two year contract.

The deal carries an AAV of $650,000 and is a one-way contract.

Ruhwedel became a favorite of the Penguins coaching staff as the season progressed and moved his way up to No. 7 on the depth chart in the post-season.
