Wednesday’s NHL Action
STL 5 – PIT 4 (OT)
TOR 7 – WPG 2
EDM 3 – CGY 0
PHI 5 – SJ 3
— Hand the MVP to Connor McDavid already? McDavid was his usual self with an electrifying performance in an Oilers 3-0 win by recording a hat trick. McDavid was clocked at skating more than 25 mph on this goal.
— The Winnipeg Jets have surfaced as that team many in the media are buzzing about and believe they could be a threat. Winnipeg got smacked in the mouth by the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-2. Patrick Marleau starred in his Leafs debut with a 2-goal night and Auston Matthews had a three point night. Toronto is going to be fun to watch.
— What type of team will the Philadelphia Flyers be this season? In a brutally tough division, expectations are as low as can be for Philly. Their big guns shined Wednesday in a 5-3 win over the Sharks with a hat trick from Wayne Simmonds, 3 assist game from Jakub Voracek and Claude Giroux who will be at the forefront of trade rumors all season had a goal.
