Padres 5 – Pirates 4
Francisco Liriano walked 5 and allowed 4 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings as the Pirates (7-7) blew a 3-0 lead in a 5-4 loss to the Padres (5-9) on Tuesday night.
Things went south for Liriano and the Pirates in the fourth inning when Wil Myers and Derek Norris each hit 2-run homers off Liriano in consecutive innings as the Pirates lead evaporated.
The Pirates racked up 11 hits in the loss but were 3-15 with RISP. Josh Harrison, Jordy Mercer each had two hits.
