The NHL career of 38 year old Marian Hossa is believed to be over.

The Blackhawks announced today Hossa won’t play for the 2017-2018 season due to a skin disorder from his equipment.

Hossa who turns 39 in January, had four more seasons left on his deal with a $5,275,000 cap hit.

Hossa had 26 goals in 2016-2017 but getting out of the contract will be a gift to the Blackhawks.

In 1309 career games, the future Hall-of-Famer has 525 goals and 609 assists.
