39 Year old defenseman Mark Streit has been placed on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens.

Signed this summer by the Canadiens to a one year, $700,000 contract, Streit was looked at as a player who would come in and take Andrei Markov’s role on the power play for Montreal.

Instead Streit never found any footing with the Canadiens coaching staff and has been waived after appearing in just two games.
