The Ottawa Senators have traded Mike Hoffman, Cody Donaghey and Ottawa’s fifth-round choice in the 2020 NHL Draft to the San Jose Sharks for Mikkel Boedker, defenseman Julius Bergman and a sixth-round draft choice in 2020.
The Senators organization has turned into one of the worst in the NHL and this trade continues that as Ottawa has been forced to sell extremely low due to the allegations surrounding Hoffman’s fiancĂ©e who Hoffman has continued to support 100%, which crushed his trade value around the league.
The statement from Senators GM Pierre Dorion says it all.
“Today’s trade showcases our determination to strengthen the future of the team by improving chemistry, leadership and character in the locker room and on the ice. We are confident it is a step in the right direction for the long-term success of this organization,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion.
For San Jose there are significant risks on how this will go in their room but on the ice this is a great hockey trade and the Sharks have significantly upgraded their winger position with Evander Kane acquired last February/signed long-term and now Hoffman.
Now Hoffman has been traded to the Panthers lol.
Evander Kane and now Hoffman in the same locker room? The Sharks should see if they can get Ray Emery to come out of retirement… .
From the sounds of it as long as Kane doesnt start texting Hoffman’s wife the attitude could be managed lol
Now he is a Panther.
Hilarious…
She’s quick on the QWERTY lol
