Tuesday Night’s Action


1. Blue Jackets 4 – Hurricanes 1
– The Columbus Blue Jackets (30-9-4, 64 pts) became the first team to 30 wins with a 4-1 win over the Hurricanes (21-16-7, 49 pts). Brandon Dubinsky had two goals and Sergei Bobrovsky returned to the lineup, stopping 24 of 25 shots. Carolina in the hunt for a wildcard spot, fall to 6-12-6 on the road.


2. Devils 4 – Wild 3
– Beau Bennett scored the game winning goal as the Devils  (19-18-9, 47 pts) delivered Minnesota (28-10-5, 61 pts) a rare regulation loss. New Jersey goes 3-0-1 on their four game road trip and have made a push back into the playoff mix, now three points out.


3. Leafs 4 – Sabres 3
– Auston Matthews continues his dominant rookie campaign, scoring his 22nd goal of the season as the Leafs  (21-13-8, 50 pts) rallied past the Sabres (17-18-9, 43 pts) 4-3. The surging Leafs have won nine of 11 games. Matthews is 3rd in the NHL with 22 goals, behind Sidney Crosby (27 goals) and Jeff Carter (23 goals).
