#6 Ohio State 39 – #2 Penn State 38

In what was a thrilling classic with major College Playoff implications, No. 6 Ohio State outscored No. 2 Penn State 19-3 in the 4th quarter to rally past Penn State for a 39-38 come from behind win.

J.T. Barrett starred in crunch time, completing his last 16 passes, throwing 3 touchdown passes in the 4th quarter and going 33-39 for 328 yards and 4 TD’s in the win.

Ohio State had trailed for over 57 minutes before a Barrett 16 yard TD to Marcus Baugh with 1:48 remaining in the 4th quarter put the Buckeyes ahead by one.

For Penn State the first half could not have gone better with a 28 point half.

Saquon Barkley took the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown and the Nittany Lions kept pouring it on, taking leads of 14-0, 21-3 and then 28-10 before going into the half with an 11 point lead.

In the 4th quarter, Penn State just couldn’t execute to bury the Buckeyes.

In three of their final four drives, Penn State went 3 plays for -1 yard, 3 plays for -4 yards and then 4 plays for -5 yards in turning the ball over on downs to end the game.

Saquon Barkley had the 97 yard kickoff return and a 36 yard rushing touchdown in the first half, but was shutdown on the ground with 21 carries for 44 yards, 36 of the 44 yards coming on the 2nd quarter TD run.
