When the Penguins decided to move forward last Friday in acquiring Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann from Florida, Penguin management made the deal with the intentions that Blugstad will play on Sidney Crosby’s right wing and Jared McCann would be the third line center. The Malkin injury put that plan on stand-by but Bjugstad moving up to the top-line right wing is a direction the staff is leaning towards Thursday night vs the Florida Panthers.
Blugstad has 1 assist, 9 shots on goal in three games with Pittsburgh.
LINE COMBOS
Guentzel – Crosby – Blugstad
Rust – Cullen – Kessel
Simon – McCann – Hornqvist
Pearson – Blueger – Wilson
what happened to the overwhelming chemistry that the local media reported on between bjugstad and kessel? that’s all we heard about 2 days ago. hahahahahaha! obvious propaganda coming from david moreheist.
You say a lot of stupid shit.
i give that combo about 7 shifts. after that, sullivan just won’t be able to resist putting simon back on that top line.
Only a few games but I don’t see Blugstad as a center. Just not physical enough
If Bleuger can build off his first two games and McCann stays playing his game which has some energy in it we can move Bjugstad to the wing easily
Love Bleugers start hope it can continue. McCaan looks strong so far and I hope Bjugstad can find it on the line with Sid, but if not Rust is a better fit thhan Simon…but they stopped calling for my opinion.
