The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired the rights to defenseman John Marino from the Edmonton Oilers in-exchange for a 2021 conditional sixth round pick.
Marino, currently unsigned, was a sixth round pick in 2015.
“John is a mobile defenseman who excels at moving the puck while also playing with an edge to his game,” said GM Jim Rutherford in a team release. “We are excited to acquire him as we continue to add defensive depth to the organization. The next step is to work on getting a contract done with him.”
The 22-year-old appeared in 30 games for Harvard in 18-19, registering three goals and eight assists for 11 points. In three seasons with Harvard, Marino has totaled 42 points (7G-35A) in 101 career games.
I love it that all of the pens projected lines leave Dominic Simon as the healthy scratch. Yeah right! Haha haha
I love how you find a player and complain non stop about them. You’re a special kind of stupid.
they need to get some young talent into the system. i have no idea if this kid has talent, but i have no issue with the theory
For a late round pick it is worth a gamble.
Gramps will do anything to get rid of draft picks.
I am shocked it was not a first.
