The Pittsburgh Penguins do not plan to recall defenseman Derrick Pouliot from Wilkes Barre/Scranton with Olli Maatta currently sidelined. Pouliot has 3 goals and 10 points in 12 games for Wilkes Barre.
AHL head coach Mike Sullivan has recommended for the Penguins to callup Tim Erixon, a source says. David Warsofsky (2G-4A-6Pts) is also under consideration and a favorite of Mike Johnston.
Wilkes Barre has received excellent production from their backend to start the year. Defenseman Will O’Neill has 11 points in 12 games to lead all Baby Penguins defensemen.
