Red Wings 4 – Penguins 1

The Pittsburgh Penguins were held to 2 goals or less in regulation for the sixth straight game and suffered a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on New Years Eve.

Pittsburgh ended December with just three regulation wins in the final month of 2017 and have just 1 regulation win over their last 12 games, going 4-8 during that span with one win coming in overtime and two via a shootout.

As the club enters the New Year, the Penguins are reeling.

The team can’t score 5 vs 5, their No. 1 goaltender hasn’t been good of late and it’s a team that has to be over-reliant on the power play all season……
