Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Phil Kessel will all make their preseason debuts Sunday night vs the St. Louis Blues in the USA Krafthockeyville game at the UPMC Lemieux Sports complex.
In addition to Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Kessel, other big name players who will be in the lineup include Justin Schultz, Brian Dumoulin and Matt Murray.
Unfortunately for fans of the Mon Valley area attending the 11:00 a.m. practice at the Rostraver Ice Garden, and there was a higher turnout last week at the Ice Garden in people signing up for tickets for the practice than the game due to the obvious (making the trek from the Mon Valley area all the way to Cranberry for an 8:00 p.m. preseason game on a school night isn’t the most ideal thing), the game lineup vs the Blues Sunday night won’t be the group practicing at the Ice Garden.
The most notable players who will practice at the Ice Garden are the likes of Bryan Rust, Olli Maatta, Ian Cole and Scott Wilson. The group includes several AHLers.
The practice will also be ran by Sergei Gonchar and Mark Recchi, the team says.
