The Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday signed forward Brian Boyle and defenseman Matt Bartkowski to Professional Tryout Contracts. Boyle, 36, turns 37 in December and did not play in the NHL last season. Boyle has compiled 130 goals and 231 points in 805 career games. The 6-foot-6, 245-pound Boyle posted 6 goals and 9 assists in 39 games with the Panthers in 2019-2020, his last NHL season. Bartkowski, 33, a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School appeared in one game for the Minnesota Wild last season and has appeared in just three NHL games since the 2017-2018 season.
