The Pittsburgh Penguins today signed forward Nathan Legare to a three year entry level contract, leaving the door open for a possible nine-game window to open the season in Pittsburgh. Legare the 74th overall pick in the 2019 draft, has been a camp standout thus far in flashing a high-end skilled game where he has excelled in creating offense during practice sessions and the exhibition season. The 18 year old has 2 goals and 1 assist in two exhibition games, including a 2 goal performance vs the Columbus Blue Jackets last night.
“Nate has had a really strong training camp thus far,” Penguins GM Jim Rutherford said in a released statement. “We’ve been impressed with his offensive instincts and his overall approach to the game. We’re thrilled to get him signed.”
Sullivan will hate him. Plus, Simon and Aston Reese need to stay in the lineup so there is no room for this kid.
He has a wicked shot and looks like a keeper…
