The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed relievers George Kontos and Joaquin Benoit on the 10-day DL and optioned Dovydas Neverauskas, the team announced.

In corresponding moves, the Pirates recalled Steven Brault, Johnny Barbato and Edgar Santana.

Benoit, 40, has an 8.59 ERA in 7 1/3 innings as a Pirate. He walked 4 batters Monday night in the Pirates 12 inning loss to the Dodgers.

Kontos, 32, has a 1.80 ERA in 5 innings pitched for the Pirates.
