The Pittsburgh Pirates today signed 38 year old pitcher Ryan Vogelsong to a one-year contract. It will be Vogelsong’s second stint with the organization.

Vogelsong went 9-11 with a 4.67 ERA (135.0ip/70er) in 33 appearances (22 starts) last year as a member of the San Francisco Giants. He posted an 8-10 record and a 4.50 ERA in his 22 starting assignments, going 6-3 with a 2.08 ERA when pitching 6.0 innings or more. In 265 career Major League games (165 starts), Vogelsong has gone 58-68 with a 4.45 ERA. In addition, he has posted a 3-0 record and 2.92 ERA in eight games (seven starts) during the postseason.
