Mason Rudolph on Thursday night continued to fill up the stat sheet, compared to his counter part Josh Dobbs in the No. 2 QB battle. Rudolph went 7 of 11 for 125 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers 25-19 loss to the Panthers. Rudolph finished the preseason, 28 of 43 for 368 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. Rudolph who produced a 113.3 QB Rating in the preseason, had 5 completions of 20+ yards and 3 completions of 40+ yards.

Dobbs who graded very well in the first three preseason games from some outlets like Pro Football Focus, put up poor numbers from a statistical standpoint, going 18 of 33 for 280 yards with 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Dobbs 57 QB rating was the 5th worst among all quarterbacks in the preseason who threw 30 or more passes.  Rudolph’s 113.3 QB Rating was tops among all QB’s in the preseason who threw at least 40 passes.
