Rockies 13 – Pirates 3

W: K. Freeland (10-7)
L: I. Nova (10-7)

Pirates starter Ivan Nova (10-7, 3.62 ERA) was roughed up in a 13-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon. Nova allowed 9 hits and 7 earned runs in five innings to suffer his 7th loss of the season.

The Rockies in taking 2 of 3 from the Pirates now hold an eight game lead over the Pirates for the top wildcard spot as the Pirates were not able to make up ground in the wildcard race during the three game series.

The Pirates, though, did not lose ground in the NL Central.

With Milwaukee losing to the Philles 6-3 today and also losing 2 of 3 vs the Phillies, the Pirates remain three games back of the NL Central lead.

The Brewers are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

Josh Harrison had a 3 hit game in the lose, going 3-5 with a double.

David Freese homered in the 6th inning, his 7th of the season.

Josh Bell drove in his 54th run of the season and was 6-14 with a home run and 6 RBIs in the series.
