Jaguars 30 – Steelers 9

The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) are an improved club but they are not that improved where they should have came into Pittsburgh and smacked the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) in the mouth for a 30-9 Jaguars win.

What today’s loss for the Steelers should do is finally end the non-sense that Pittsburgh has one of the best offenses in football.

More often than not this group underachieves and that has continued in 2017.

Most concerning for the offense is that there’s now been enough tape dating back to last season where Ben Roethlisberger’s days as an elite quarterback are likely over.

Roethlisberger who at times this season has looked like a quarterback closer to retirement than not, had a dreadful day.

The 35 year old was picked five times and threw 2 pick-6’s in 4 attempts during the third quarter to sink the Steelers.

Roethlisberger was 33 of 55 for 312 yards with 0 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Pittsburgh’s offense would be held to three points in the second half after the offense stalled three times in the red-zone during the first half and had to settle for two field goals.

Against one of the NFL’s worst rush defenses, Jacksonville succeeded with a game plan to try to take the run away and make Roethlisberger beat them.

To punctuate the Jaguars win, Leonard Fournette went 90 yards for a touchdown with 1:47 remaining to put the Jags up 30-9 as Jacksonville rushed 18 straight times to close out the game and didn’t attempt a pass over the final 22 minutes of the game.

Meanwhile, prior to the Fournette TD run in garbage time, Pittsburgh had rushed the ball just 17 times in the loss.
