Long-time Phoenix Coyotes winger Shane Doan will go shopping for a contender in the coming weeks to chase a Stanley Cup.
Doan who has been informed by the Arizona Coyotes he won’t be resigned, intends to explore the free agent market, Doan’s agent Terry Bross says via text.
At the trade deadline, Doan gave the Coyotes a list of five teams he’d be willing to accept a trade to.
The Pittsburgh Penguins were one of the five teams and the Doan camp intends to gauge the Penguins interest this week in Chicago.
Pittsburgh did not have interest at the trade deadline.
