The first coaching casualty thus far for the Steelers is Mike Tomlin’s close friend and former Steeler great Joey Porter.
Porter today has been fired after five years on the staff.
“I have informed outside linebackers coach Joey Porter that we will not renew his contract. These are difficult decisions when it comes to someone like Joey who has meant a lot to this organization as both a player and coach. I want to thank Joey for his coaching efforts over the past five years on our defensive staff. We wish him the best in his future coaching career.” — Mike Tomlin statement
Brilliant. Throw Porter under the bus. What a joke. This will fix things,
Dude you think he should stay? Hasn’t developed any LB’s since his time here. The best thing he did was bait Pac Man Jones into that penalty that helped us beat Cincy in the playoffs. If you hate then it must be the right move based on your track record.
Read today he was decisive in the locker between offense and defense……smh
Good. He’s a thug.
