Derick Brassard at the forefront of significant trade talks the Penguins are currently involved in, did not take part in the Penguins optional skate this morning. It was somewhat newsworthy for Brassard’s case because he is not normally one of the players that takes the option. Mike Sullivan said after the morning skate all players who took the option (Brassard, Crosby, Dumoulin, Kessel, Maatta among the notables) are available to play tonight. Brassard who is bracing for a trade out of Pittsburgh, based on conversations his camp has had with the Penguins’ brass, netted his ninth goal of the season Monday night vs the Devils.

Pearson – Brassard – Horny
Rust – Riley -Kessel
Simon – Teddy – Cullen
