Brandon Boykin’s first quarter interception led to him playing 40 snaps vs the Indianapolis Colts and Boykin figures to see 35+ snaps again on Sunday vs the Bengals. “I thought he did a nice job with the snaps he had, and we will continue with that as we move forward,” Tomlin said Tuesday at his weekly press conference of using Boykin in a more prominent role.

More Boykin vs the Colts meant less Antwon Blake which Tomlin said today led to helping Blake in a big way. “I thought Antwon Blake was more significant on special teams, for example, because of the reduced number of snaps. There’s a lot of byproduct, or hopefully positive things, from the distribution of the snaps. Hopefully it continues.”
