Insider Only Jeff Locke throws batting practice early, recovers to throw seven innings

  • The Pirates came into Tuesday’s game 10-1 in Jeff Locke’s last 11 starts at PNC Park but the Pirates bats were silent again and Locke was up and down in a 7-1 loss to the Reds on Tuesday night. Locke gave up batting practice early on as Todd Frazier and Marlon Byrd homered off Locke but the Pirates lefty recovered to go seven innings, in giving up four runs and seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
