Penguins center Dustin Jeffrey met with team doctors yesterday and received a positive report, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Jeffrey continues to progress well and has been cleared to begin skating soon with both sides hopeful that he will be at full strength for the start of camp on September 16th. Jeffrey will be re-evaluated a few days before camp and he should have close to 3 weeks of skating under his belt. If healthy, Jeffrey could go into camp battling Mark Letestu for the third line center spot as there are doubts Sidney Crosby will be fully cleared for start of camp. Jeffrey is eligible for waivers.
