Much discussion all summer has been who should Phil Kessel play with, Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin?

The answer is Sidney Crosby, at least to start.
Head coach Mike Johnston indicated moments ago at the Penguins team golf outing said that he is leaning towards starting Kessel with Crosby — Patric Hornqvist playing with Evgeni Malkin –.
While the top-2 right winger spots are locked in, lots of competition in camp on the left side.
Penguins coaches feel the best case scenario is Chris Kunitz showing signs of being the Kunitz from 13/14, playing him with Crosby and Kessel, with David Perron anchoring the second line left wing spot.
Nonetheless, Kunitz, Perron, Sergei Plotnikov will be in the mix for the top-2 left wing spots and Pascal Dupuis is also left wing capable.

This teams forward depth is insane. They finally have the center and wing depth to be able to roll out malkin crosby kessel line for a few shifts to change momentum or get a goal late in the game then follow up with perron bonino hornqvist without missing a beat.

Its the off season never been a big pirate fan and the comments about peoples mothers, weight or sexual preference just isn’t something I think deserves time. Plus with the beginning of soccer season around the corner been busy with that. Will be posting more when it starts to matter. Even if just to piss some of the “experts” on here off.

I agree with what you said in the previous comment section before the site change zero about not really knowing for sure how Kessel will fit with Sid or Geno because none of the players involved have ever been in the situation they will be in here but that is why I hope MJ doesn’t just lock himself into the Crosby/Kessel pairing without exploring all options to truly see where the best fit is.
