Insider Only Kunitz receives a one game suspension

Penguins winger Chris Kunitz has received a one game suspension for his elbow on Simon Gagne. Kunitz and Penguins management were informed of the decision immediately after today’s practice.
Kunitz getting a one game ban is not a surprise as the expectation inside Penguin circles is that he would receive 1 to 2 games.
Kunitz will be eligible to return to the lineup on Saturday afternoon for Game 5. He can still practice and workout with the team.
Here were Kunitz comments following today’s practice, before he learned of the suspension.

“I told my side of it, obviously it looks bad, ” Kunitz said courtesy of the Penguins official site. “I never intentionally meant to hurt him. I’m glad that he was okay and was able to finish the game. I’m going to have to accept whatever penalty comes down”
