Followup on the Jagr situation from our previous story:
*I have been able to confirm from multiple contacts that Jagr’s camp reached out to the Penguins late last week. The response to Jagr’s agent Peter Svoboda is that the team would take the weekend to discuss their options internally and “explore” the possibility.
*Why the change in stance? One reason is that the Penguins now believe Jagr is actually serious about an NHL return which has prompted the team to at least discuss Jagr being a fit, based off Jagr showing interest in the team.
For this to happen, Jagr is going to have to persuade management and head coach Dan Bylsma that this can actually work.
However, this doesn’t mean Penguins are interested in the manner that they are prepared to make an offer. The team though is discussing Jagr.

*Is Mario Lemieux getting involved? Most likely, but I haven’t been able to confirm yet.
* Although there is no confirmation that the Penguins have made an offer to Jagr, I’m Told Jagr is down to three teams; Pittsburgh, Detroit and an unknown third team that Jagr’s camp is trying to keep quiet.
Some chatter going around is that the Canadiens are out.
