Some updates on the Pens injury front following today’s practice:
*As I first reported Monday evening, Dustin Jeffrey’s injury is considered a two week injury at the max (From the time his injury was diagnosed on 2/11/11). I’m told Jeffrey is targeting next week for a return and Dan Bylsma said today that Jeffrey is expected to skate later in the week.
Jeffrey will be fitted for a brace, according to Bylsma. He’s eligible to return off of IR on Sunday but he won’t be ready to play them.
*Chris Kunitz is rehabbing, according to Bylsma and remains day-to-day. The sense is he should be back within 7-to-10 days.
*Mark Letestu went through some light skating today in street clothes. He’s progressing well.
*The team still claims Arron Asham is day-to-day, however he’s believed to have re-injured his left shoulder that had him on the shelf for the first 4 weeks of the season. His return is not close and has not played since February 1st.
*Eric Tangradi remains sidelined with a concussion.
