The Texas Rangers ran their winning streak to 10, defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-3 on Tuesday night.
With the loss the Pirates fell to 25-46 on the season and are now 21 games under .500.
Pirates starter Paul Maholm (4-6, 4.24 ERA) had his shortest outing of his career, lasting just one inning.
Maholm gave up 7 runs on 8 hits and walked 4, while striking out just 1. It was a 55 pitch inning for Maholm who from the start didn't have any life on his off-speed pitches.
After the game Maholm tweeted, "Sorry to anyone who had to witness that tonight. Not good but can guarantee in 5 days I will back to battling and expect to win. (@Maholm28)>
Dana Eveland (8.38 ERA) came into relief in the second inning. He gave up 6 runs on 7 hits in 2.2 innings pitched.
