Vegas moves on from the Franchise Icon
The Vegas Golden Knights have officially gone all-in on Robin Lehner as Marc Andre Fleury is on the move.
The 2021 Vezina Trophy winner has been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks, a rumored destination for Fleury over the last couple weeks.
Vegas receives forward Mikael Hakkarainen in the deal and no cap hit was retained.
As Chicago is trying to speed up their retool, it’s a bold move for the Hawks but as TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports, there’s already questions whether Fleury will report and Fleury could contemplate retirement at age 36. Sportsnet’s Elliott Friedman also reports there were rumblings Fleury could retire if traded anywhere due to family reasons.
Vegas writer Jesse Granger reports Fleury found out about the trade via Twitter, which is a terrible look for the Golden Knights and Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh confirmed just after 12:00 p.m. that Fleury has yet to hear from Vegas management and will be contemplating his future.

Perry to Tampa, 2 yr deal.
Can’t beat them join the…mmhhh is this the NBA ? LOL
The Arizona Coyotes have dealt goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Avs in exchange for defenseman Conor Timmins, a 2022 first-round pick, and a 2024 conditional third-round pick.
Wow, Arizona just robbed Colorado.
Ullmark 4years 20m really?
Wonder how much he would’ve gotten if he made the playoffs or won the cup
What has he proven to get that type of salary
I wonder the same about Fraud Price.
Rask is done. This was not a bad move. About a $1 million higher per season but worth the risk.
Agreed! This kid can play and had solid numbers on a crappy defensive team. 9 – 6- 3 2.78 GA 017 save %. They have seen a lot of him playing in the same division. Carramrod you are right I think Rask is done !! Ullmark is big, only 27, he just needs to stay healthy.
917 save % sorry
Buckeye Donuts.
Rumors that npl will be trading his hot dog cart and half of his KFC bucket to carramrod
For a box of donuts
Awesome!!!! I would make that trade!!!
If you don’t take that deal you’d be more stupid than NPL
“You’d be more stupid”
Hoffman and savard to habs
And they will still miss the playoffs next year. Another $10 million flushed down the drain on fraud Price. Marc Bergevin will be fired midway through next season.
Yeah because penguins are better positioned with Jarry
Money wise, yes. Same out come for less.
Kind of hoping the Pens make a pitch for Tatar, but I doubt it. He doesn’t seem like managements type of player. I like the McCabe signing, but I’d still want to see a signing for a little more secondary scoring.
I think Ritchie from Boston would add grit, size and sandpaper. If we could somehow add Brandon Saad and a decent defenseman we would be better. That would require moving MP and or Zucker.
Add all the forwards and defensemen you want, with Jarry in net they will not go far come playoff time.
Well that’s true.. Goalies were like the first off the board today. This goalie they signed from UMASS Lindberg is really strong. 29-6-4 sub 2 GAA 939 save % college career. The kid can play and just led UMASS to the college Ice hockey championship over St. Cloud at PPG.
I think he could surprise sooner than later….standards between the pipes in Pittsburgh aren’t super high…LOL
This version of the Pens can not wait until later.
Anyone sign fraud parise yet ?
Islanders and Devils appear to be the nly two teams talking to Parise.
Npl suckks
So does his kind
So now Seattle has Chris Driedger and Grubauer. See how long before Driedger wants out
That was an interesting signing they will move the guy the got from Washington.
I think two guys that might work for the Penguins Nick Ritchie and Brandon Saad. They will have to move MP and or Zucker..
Hockey11 averages 36 posts per day
Hey I didn’t post at all today until recently waited until one..
Unlike your useless bag of ass who says nothing even when he does post once a month ..see you in September..
Next month is August.
I know but that is the time frame for dope head 77 ! He needs a few extra days..
He shows up once a month with his creepy clown face and says nothing…
useless77
Better than npl (Sam)
That shows up here in summer time or when tampax is winning the cup
Nice… LOL
Can’t wait for your useless comment next month…
Boston adds;
– Foligo
– Ullmark
– Haula
– Noesek
– Resigned Taylor Hall
– Krejci ???? not yet
Philadelphia
– Ellis
– Yandle
– Ristolainen
– Thompson
Carolina
– Ian Cole
– Bernier
Devils
– Hamilton
– Talking with Parise
Rangers
– Goodrow
– Blias from st.louis
Washington nothing that I know of… Penguins McGinn / Rodriquez / Simon uuuggghhhh LOL
Foligno to the Bruins…wow
What do you think people of this site do the Penguins take a chance on a healthy / rejuvenated Tarasenko ? The three shoulder surgeries are risky but if he is healthy maybe a change of scenery.??
He and Jason Zucker are both 29, left wingers, and need a change of scenery.. St. Louis wants to move Tarasenko and we want to move Zucker ??
Maybe Zucker’s $ 5.5 plus a third round pick to the Blues for Tarasenko’s $ 7.5 million and the Blues retain $1 million.
Maybe another Russian would help Malkin ??? just a thought !
I like what my second favorite team the Kings have done this off season. We added Ardvisson earlier and now Phillip Danult and Alex Edler on defense…
Was bummed we missed on Zack Bogosian. He took less,3 years at $850,000, to join the Tampa Bay Lightning. WE have to address this defense..we have to somehow some way..
Our defense is still weak and soft..
Everybody in the metro got better the only team less active than the Penguins was the Capitals.
I still think Sweet Satin Lou will do something for the Islanders…we will see
Ryan Wilson from Hockeybuzz might be the most insufferable Pens blogger in franchise history.
The Seattle Kraken signed goaltender Philipp Grubauer to a six-year contract worth $5.9 million per season,
Where does Colorado go now in goal….??
They can have Jarry
I’ll help pay for the flight…
Who do you think the Penguins may go after moving forward? Saad !
Also, i like the Brock McGinn signing
Its crazy that today, of all days, Hockey11 isnt on here spazzing over every signing
Oh dick head Sam I am hear been watching lots of movement. Penguins did sign 27 year old Brock McGinn is olid and affordable. Why we brought Simon back not sure and Evan Rodriquez solid 4th liner. I am hoping there will be more off season moves later on to at least fill some holes.
Ian Cole signed for $ 2.9 million, Bonino signed for $ 2 million mmmhhhhh I guess Simon was a better option.
Miss you too Sam !
A lot of these contracts are insane. There’s no way the Pens shouldn’t be able to move Zucker and Pettersson to address a goaltender. Replace them with POJ and Hyman (or more realistically, Tatar).
Maybe the St. Louis Blues for Jason Zucker they need help on left wing. They will need to move Tarasenko !!
Agreed insane contracts everywhere.. except Pittsburgh LOL
Penguins Re-Sign Forward Evan Rodrigues to a One-Year Contract
Ya dont say?!
I saw yours after I posted it. Lol.
Hextall must have a suitor lined up for Zucker if he’s bringing in a top 6 forward like Simon
Dominik Simon is back baby! Woooooooooooo!
Hopefully to play goalie.
That just solves all their problems
E-Rod resigned for $1M
Halak to Vancouver
Halak at $1.5 million as a back up would have been terrific.. Hextall still sleepng man he is slow…
Supposedly the Wild is out on Eichel.
Mrazek to Toronto
Coleman to Calgary. 6 x 4.9m. Yikes.
Dougie to NJ… lol
The Pens are going to end up with MAF. Calling it now. Hope I’m wrong, but the situation seems destined. Him, Letang and Malkin all with one year left. Pens are open about needing a goalie. His value in a trade is virtually non existent, so we’d actually be able to acquire him with Chicago retaining salary. Or, they need defense, so we send MP that way.
I have that feeling too. Doesnt exactly fix the whole “goalie shlts down his own leg in the playoffs” problem.
No on Marc Andre Fluery..period.
If Ceci isnt retained, I think Travis Hamonic is a solid replacement. Got size and some nasty in him that I think Burxtal would like.
Also, give me Erik Haula’s speed/skill in the bottom 6 of a Mike Sullivan system.
Mattias Janmark would be another nice/cheaper add.
Haula and Ceci already signed….wake up..
the saint’s vezina was phony. more fake BS like everything else in the world. if he was so awesome why is he gone? vegas will win the cup next year now. guaranteed!
lolololololololololololololol
Finding it hard to believe there are no takers for Petterson, or that the Pens havent tried trading him. They need cap space and they have his replacement already in-house. He should be gone.
Sam you bumbling bag of chips…. I do agree that MP can be moved Winnipeg or Anaheim are possibilities. These contracts that are being handed out are jut insane….
Keith Yandle to sign a 1 year deal with the Flyers. Philadelphia continues their roster overhaul !!!
Funny how folding like a lawn chair every spring burns bridges.
Npl suckkss
So does his kind
Wow Vegas didn’t even call him…that is awful !!
Let the Eichel rumors start after the Fluery trade. LOL
He is going to Minnesota or Anaheim. Knights need cap space to resign Martinez and having $12 million invested in 2 goalies is not feasible with the flat cap. Eichel is not going to Vegas.
Minnesota would be a good landing spot for him…
NHL Free Agency opens up tomorrow…..should be intersting !
Hopefully Hextall wakes up and joins the party.
We don’t have to get the big free agents but there are a lot of players and some value out there to fill holes.
Sam is a big blackkawk fan
BlacKKKhawks
Npl is black Cocks fan
See what that charity Vezina gets you.
Maybe trading donuts you might get mcdavid
Maybe one day you will say something relevant and original.
I guess Sam(e) is now a Montreal and Chicago fan.
Did not see that coming
Mikael Hakkarainen … lol…. Wow. Salary dump.
