According to a report from a Czech Republic newspaper, former Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Martin Skoula has signed a one-year contract with Avangard Omsk of Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League.
Skoula, 30, appeared in 33 games with the Penguins last season. He was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in March as part of the Alexei Ponikarovsky trade.
The next day, Toronto traded Skoula to the New Jersey Devils
Skoula was a regular with the Devils, appearing in 19 games following the trade.
