Post-Morning Skate Buzz & Lineup News

Sidney Crosby won’t be the only one returning tonight. Defenseman Zbynek Michalek who has not played since October 22nd due to a broken finger, will return to the lineup tonight, he confirmed to reporters.
With Crosby and Michalek coming off injured reserve, the Penguins must make a roster move as their active roster would be at 24.

The easiest and probable move would be to place Dustin Jeffrey on injured reserve, who the team intends to keep out of game action for at least the next 10 days.
Jeffrey is currently undergoing off-ice rehab in attempt to strengthen his knee.
Other options include demoting Alexandre Picard and going with six defenseman.
Demoting a forward is also needed at somepoint in the near future as Crosby’s return gives the Penguins 15 forwards. Joe Vitale and Steve MacIntyre and Jeffrey will be scratches tonight.
The likes of borderline forwards Vitale, MacIntyre and Richard Park would all have to clear waivers to be sent down to Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Park will be in the lineup tonight.
Defenseman Alex Picard comes out of the lineup with Michalek’s return.
