Former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jason Bay could net a long-term extension with the Boston Red Sox. According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox are very interested in talking to Bay about an extension before spring training. Bay hit 31 home runs – 101 RBI’s in 155 games last season. Bay was traded to the Red Sox from the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 31, 2008. Bay batted .341 in the playoffs last season. Bay is believed to be seeking a 4yr deal worth $44-45 million.
