The Pittsburgh Pirates have had their eye on Nationals LF Lastings Milledge for sometime and the team has been in discussions with the Nationals about a possible Nyjer Morgan - Lastings Milledge swap.
Talks are on-going although Ed Price of FanHouse reports the Pirates are looking for a pitcher in return which has stalled talks.
Milledge, 24, was once regarded as a top prospect but has only appeared in 7 games this season due to a thumb injury.
Milledge began a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast Nationals Friday and the Nationals currently do not have a spot for him.
Look for negotiations to continue with Pittsburgh to find a way to acquire Milledge without including Morgan into the deal.
