Cubs, Pirates in talks about a number of players

The Pittsburgh Pirates continue to scout Chicago Cubs pitching prospect Jay Jackson in the wake of Friday’s July 31st trade deadline.
Jackson, 21, is 5-5 with a 3.75 era and 79 strikeouts in 16 starts for Class AA Tennessee.
The Pirates and Cubs have remained in contact for the past week could weeks as the two sides have discussed a number of players including Freddy Sanchez, Matt Capps and John Grabow.
Zach Duke has also been discussed to some extent but the Cubs have no interest in meeting the Pirates demands for Duke.
Recently talks have centered around John Grabow and Matt Capps.
