Phillies looking at Maholm…..Rockies eyeing Dotel?

Jayson Stark of ESPN.com., reports via twitter that the Pittsburgh Pirates were among seven teams with scouts in attendance for today’s Philadelphia Phillies – Colorado Rockies game.
Today marked the second straight game the Pirates had scouts in attendance for the Phillies/Rockies series.
Of late, the Pirates have been involved in preliminary trade discussions with the Phillies and Rockies about separate deals.
The Phillies are among three teams expressing interest in Maholm, while the Rockies are targeting Pirates closer Octavio Dotel.
For both players, the Pirates are eyeing major league talent, industry sources indicate. In talks with Maholm, the Pirates are looking for top tier prospects in return.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers have also emerged as a potential suitor for Maholm. The team has expressed preliminary interest and had scouts in attendance for Maholm’s latest start Friday night.
