Anaheim Angels 5 – Boston Red Sox 4 F12
Mike Napoli hit two early homers off Josh Beckett, then singled and scored the go-ahead run in the 12th to help Los Angeles stave off elimination and snap an nine game losing streak in the post-season. Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett struggled with his command and his velocity. The Angels got seven shutout innings from their bull pen and that’s what you need to win in the post season. Chicago White Sox 5 – Tampa Bay Rays 3
Dewayne Wise drove in two runs for Chicago to lead them to a 5-3 win. The White Sox got an impressive start from pitcher John Danks who gave them a strong 6.2 innings of work, only surrendering three runs. The White Sox hang on for another day. Game 4 in the best-of-five matchup is Monday in Chicago. Chicago will start pitcher Gavin Floyd who will face Tampa Bay’s Andy Sonnanstine.
