As expected Mathieu Garon will start in goal tonight. Marc Andre Fleury will get the night off after making 28 starts in 29 games.
A source at the arena tells me Eric Godard, Craig Adams and Philippe Boucher will all be in the lineup tonight.
Boucher was paired with Rob Scuderi in practice on Wednesday and in today’s morning skate.
Interesting scratches tonight as Hal Gill will get a night off. Gill has been bothered by a lower leg injury and needs some rest.
Upfront forward

Maxime Talbot will be scratched. Craig Adams took some shifts centering Pascal Dupuis and Eric Godard.

The Islanders had their “worst loss ever” in the history of the franchise, Tuesday night against Carolina Hurricanes and the young team has hit rock bottom. They’re just ready to end the season.
Newsday spoke to Bill Guerin on the Penguins off-day. Guerin led the Islanders with 16 goals and was second on the team with 36 points through 61 games, but his role diminished significantly in mid-January when first-year coach Scott Gordon chose to use younger players in all the major roles.
Guerin and Gordan clashed in Guerin’s final two months with the team but he was a professional and has yet to say a bad thing about Gordon or the Islanders organization.
