Andrew McCutchen off to one of the worst starts to his career, reached the 1,000 hit plateau in the Pirates 8-1 win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night. McCutchen, who went 2 for 5, reached the milestone with an eighth-inning single. McCutchen, 28, is the 33rd player in Pirates history to collect at least 1,000 hits. The last player to do it, all in a Pirates uniform was Jack Wilson in 2007.
