Game 1 at PNC? National League earns Home Field Advantage in the World Series

Game one of the World Series will be at PNC Park this October... Kidding a side, the National League has earned Home Field Advantage, defeating the American League 5-1 in the 82nd All-Star Game.

Prince Fielders three-run homer was the difference in the game. Fielder became the first Brewer to ever be named MVP of the mid-summer classic.

For the Pirates, Andrew McCutchen and Joel Hanrahan each saw action.

Hanrahan came on in the top of the 9th, allowing 1 hit and striking out 1 in 1/3 innings.

Hanrahan who was hitting 97-99mph, had great movement on his slider, striking out Michael Young who bit on the "Hammers" slider to start the 9th and got Carlos Quentin to hit a grounder to short for what should have been an easy out (out No. 2) but shortstop Starlin Castro had a throwing error to first and Quentin advanced to second.

Hanrahan then gave up a base hit to Matt Joyce and was relieved by Giants closer Brian Wilson who closed out the 9th.

Hanrahan threw 14 pitches, 9 of them strikes. He faced three batters.

Andrew McCutchen replaced Matt Kemp at center field in the seventh inning and saw hit first action at the plate, leading off the 8th inning. McCutchen hit a comebacker for an out and was 0-for-1 at the plate.

Kevin Correia, as expected, did not see any action.

The Pirates return to action Friday night in Houston.
